The Human Comedy Podcast

Last November I did a Zoom reading for the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival. I have been to the physical festival many times and heard some amazing poets read- Michael Donaghy, Billy Collins and Thomas Lux to name but a few. I used to go with my Mum when I was in my twenties so I have some really special memories of it. I love Aldeburgh and the walk down the coast to Thorpeness, it is a beautiful place and sort of magical too. I am dreaming of the coast so hard during this lockdown, can’t wait to eat fish & chips on a beach.

If you'd like to hear the poems the podcast is here. The other poets reading were Luke Samuel Yates, Lorraine Mariner and Katherine Stansfield who were all brilliant and funny. I got stuck on mute which is the absolute classic, especially for someone who is scared of Zoom like me but it didn’t really matter in the end, everyone was nice and I enjoyed the reading. It has long been an ambition of mine to read at the festival and although it was online it was still special and I know my Mum would be proud of me, so this one’s for you Mags up in the sky.
