An uncertain spring

Living in a state of uncertainty can be very tiring. However, insecurity also has many positive aspects and can be a driving force for good. Here is a list of things for us to celebrate during this strange moment in history (as well as the Bobby Dazzler hairstyles we will all have by the end of this).

  • We have stepped away from the normalcy of our lives and can use this time to reflect on what is actually important. Generally, the answer to this is love.

  • Spending time with family can go either way but being in crisis can help us to cultivate our benevolence. Let’s all try and build on that a bit, even when someone eats your last Pop Tart without telling you :(

  • If you are on your own you are facing a huge challenge. You will come out tougher than ever with a new appreciation of all that you are missing. Stay focused, you are doing an amazing job!

  • Spring is here and it’s showing us that things are always changing. Transformation is in everything and the sun is showing us all up in technicolour. Write a poem from the perspective of a daffodil and you’ll feel happy for days.

  • This is a time to look inside but don’t forget to also look outside of yourself. Becoming less self-involved is always an act of generosity, which is what the world needs at this time. Even the smallest act can change a person’s entire day. Tell someone they are full of magic and seal the magnanimous deal.

It’s important to mention that we can’t feel grateful and generous every day. We would probably be extremely boring if that were the case. Within the parameters we are given we can only try to feel comfortable with the unknown- we are in uncharted territory and for many this will be a very anxious time. I hope however that you are taking each day as it comes and making the most of the disruption. It’s exciting to think that things may never be the same again.
